Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) functional and has directed the corporation to immediately divert the untreated sewage discharged into Ulhas and Waldhuni rivers The board has also warned the KDMC of stringent action including filing of case against the Municipal Commissioner as well as members of the standing committee and other officials if they fail to comply with its direction According to the MPCB of the total 200-MLD sewage generated from KDMC area the corporation discharges 170-MLD domestic effluent without any treatment into Ulhas creek The notice comes after senior MPCB officials conducted a surprise inspection of the existing STPs totalling 30-MLD at Adharwadi and Motagaon Dombivli in April and found them to be non-operational “The work on three new MLD STP has been stopped
