Liverpool, C-NS indoor track stars at state qualifier

Davis was victorious in 2:39.12 to advance to the state meet as Liverpool’s Carter Rodriguez got third place in 2:39.93. Evan Breitbeck was sixth and Evan Romano eighth for C-NS. In the 600, Hannah Boyle set a school record as her time of one minute, 38.54 seconds to beat Fayetteville-Manlius’ Phoebe White (1:40.70) to the line.center_img Sam Nessel, Isaiah Wright, Josh Adams and Colin Hopkins paired to finish the 4×200 relay in a state meet-qualifying 1:33.22 as Liverpoolw as fourth in 1:36.68. Wright also reached the state meet in the 55-meter hurdles thanks to his third-place time of 7.76 seconds.Liverpool’s wins included a sweep of both weight throws as Imahni Sinclair went 47’9 1/2” on the girls side to go with her second-place shot put toss of 38’4” that trailed the 39’2 1/2” from Whitesboro’s Madison Kozyra.The Warriors’ Jalen Graham won the boys shot put by going 59’11”, nearly three feet ahead of the 57′ 1/4” from Rome Free Academy’s Justin Swavely.In the girls 55 hurdles, Kali Hayes beat the field in a school-record 8.63 seconds as C-NS’s Lexi Gaetz was third in 8.81, Hayes having reached the final with 8.75 with the Northstars’ Savannah Kuhr eighth.Jenna Schulz, Kara Nash, Kaleigh Buck and Gabby McCarthy were second for Liverpool in the 4×800 relay in 10:06.98 to F-M’s 9:30.36 as C-NS had Kingdeski, Allison Newton, Marissa Doty and Hannah Reichard third in 10:07.57, right behind the Warriors for that runner-up spot.Running at 3,000 meters, Schulz, in 10:06.68, reached the state meet even as she finished second to F-M’s Claire Walters in 9:51.08 as Reichard finshed seventh. Schulz was third (4:52.60) just ahead of Putman (4:52.85) in the 1,500-meter run.Also for the Warriors, Bennett Robb finished third in the high jump, clearing 6’1” as Owen Jarosz (5’6”) was ninth. Liverpool, in 8:37.71, beat out C-NS (8:46.82) for fifth place in the 4×800 relay.In the girls 4×200, Liverpool had Hayes, Anne Gullo, Sophia Jarosz and Riley Norris get to third place in 1:49.86. C-NS had Newton, Doty, Shannon Brown and Molly McGrath get third place in the 4×400 in 4:19.05.The Warriors’ Amina Sinclair, who is going to the state meet in the girls high jump, cleared 5’3” here as C-NS’s Lilly Capria was fifth, topping 5 feet, and Lexi Gaetz (4’10” was eighth.Nessel finished fourth in the 300-meter dash in 37.49 seconds, with Matt LeClair fourth in the 1,600-meter run in 4:31.07. Wright had a fourth-place long jump of 20’8 1/2” as Carlton Garnes, 10th in that event with 18’6”, was seventh in the triple jump with 39’7”.In the boys 3,200-meter run, Liverpool had Jake McGowan get fourth place in 9:52.67, with Ryan Hagan fifth and Ryan Cartwight seventh, and C-NS’s Josh Koeppe between them in sixth place.Stephanie Webb was 13th in the weight throw and 18th in the shot put, with Faith Keville 15th in the weight throw.
