TMobile and 20th Century Fox Announce Deal for Cheap Movie Tickets

You’re probably not the only one who thinks the price of movie tickets has become way too expensive. If you live in a big city, you’re probably paying up to $15 per ticket every time you see a movie. If you’re anything like us, that’s resulted in you going to see a movie in a theater a lot less often. Why spend all that money when you can watch a perfectly good movie at home on a streaming service you already pay for? Outside of a few must-see events each year (your Star Wars, your Marvels, maybe the occasional Get Out), you probably don’t get out to see movies that much anymore. And that’s a shame. No matter how good your home setup is, there’s nothing quite like going to see a movie in a theater. No matter how big your new OLED or whatever is, it probably still doesn’t take up an entire wall the way your local theater’s screen does. And I don’t care how good your surround system is, the theater is better. Often the movie is specifically designed for the speaker-placement in a theater. Not so much for your living room. Every aspect of a good movie theater is designed to immerse you in the movie, to give you a distraction-free environment to get lost in another world. You know you should see more movies in the theater, and if you’re on T-Mobile, you’ll soon be able to.The company announced a partnership with 20th Century Fox today, offering its customers $4 tickets to five of the studio’s biggest upcoming movies. Through T-Mobile’s existing deals app, T-Mobile Tuesdays, the carrier will offer discounted tickets to Maze Runner: The Death Cure, Red Sparrow, Deadpool 2, Alita: Battle Angel, and Dark Phoenix. Wow, that’s actually a pretty impressive lineup of cheap movies. I want to see three, possibly even four of those. To claim the tickets, you’ll have to be a T-Mobile subscriber, download the T-Mobile Tuesdays app, buy the ticket when the deal pops up, and redeem it with the Atom Tickets app. In addition to the $4 tickets, T-Mobile customers can also enter sweepstakes to win trips to premieres and other experiences. This isn’t the first time T-Mobile has offered movie tickets through its deals app. Last year, the company offered cheap tickets to War for the Planet of the Apes, press release and that became one of the most popular deals of the year. T-Mobile says the success of that promotion led to the partnership announced today. Is this reason enough to jump to a different carrier if you’re already happy with what you have? Probably not. It is a nice perk for anyone already on the network, though. And if you were already considering switching, I could totally see $4 movie tickets being the thing that pushes you over the edge. Especially since there are some pretty great movies on offer. You’ll definitely want to see Deadpool 2 in a theater. And Alita: Battle Angel. It might be the only screen big enough to contain those uncanny-valley anime eyes.center_img Stay on targetlast_img read more
